The Stretch

Hey,

The Leafs are currently in 12th place and five points out of a playoff spot with 17 games to go. On February 6, exactly one month ago today, they were in 8th place with 60 points, 6 points ahead of Winnipeg, 9 in front of Tampa Bay, and 10 in front of Buffalo. Those teams are all now ahead of them. The Leafs had a disastrous February, going 4-10, and 3 of those wins were in the first three days of the month. They currently have 67 points.

After one game, the Leafs are undefeated this month and 14 of their remaining 17 games occur in March. In today's blog, we take a look at those remaining games. The format will be the score in the season series, the overall goal count and the placing and point total this season.

March 27: CAROLINA HURRICANES - 1-1-1, 7-8, 14th Place - 62 points.

April 5: TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING - 2-0, 14-4, 10th Place - 68 points.
April 7: MONTREAL CANADIENS - 3-2, 11-13, 15th Place - 60 points. HAHAHA.

This is a very tough schedule as most of these teams are playoff bound. Not only do we have to play all the 'new' teams, but all except 3 of these teams are ahead of us. Checking now to see how many teams are behind the Leafs...
